A green paradise under your house

In the past the Thai people build there house on stilts.  It was more or less a logic way to build a house. Because, even if we can't realise it in our cilmate, in Thailand it is really to hot some times. But in a space like this you don't have to go in, but stay outside. Also when it is raining you are outside and gather together. If you want in the sun, that is also possible, but that is never and never a problem in Thailand.

Studying Thai way of building Anke Colijn came upon this way of building to make the real best houses she wanted. So the houses are tilted and there is an extra space of 130m2. In it is the private pool. Around it is a garden with tropical plants, palmtrees and the ever flowering Hibiscus. Here a lot of butterflies and birds are coming.

It makes the house even bigger then it is and even more nice to live in. A lot of renters mail me when they are there, to tell me how wonderful this place is. They say that the children don't ask to go to the beach, because they are perfectly happy. They sit there when the evening is coming. When, in the rainy season, there is a day of rain, they are still outside, swimming, reading a book, chatting with friends, who want to be here on such a day.

Even if such a place is such an advantage, these house are the only ones in Hua Hin, build on stilts.

The Thai people count a place like this with the other rooms in a house, because of it's importance in living. If we would see that on this way, the house would be 390m2. Really a paradise to live in.
